Does Treasures for Life consign merchandise? Yes. Consignment items are accepted, with the consignor receiving 50% of the sale proceeds. The consignor may designate the minimum price that will be accepted and which charity should receive the proceeds after expenses. To view consignment information, please click here. How does Treasures for Life get its merchandise? Items are donated or consigned by individuals and businesses. Donors and consignors also receive a charitable donation form from the designated charity that may be used to claim a tax deduction for their gifts. What type of items can be donated? Treasures for Life accepts most donations, with the exception of large appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, washers/dryers, etc. We gladly accept new and gently-used clothes, books, music, movies, furniture, jewelry, toys, sporting goods, small kitchen appliances, and most household items. How should I prepare my donations? We ask that you place clothing, bed linens, and table linens in large plastic bags. Please place your other donations in boxes that have lids or are able to be closed. This enables your donated items to stay clean, dry, and secure. Please wrap/secure all cords to lamps and small appliances. Do you offer a tax receipt for donations? Yes. Donors can choose to donate the proceeds from their donation to any or all of the charities participating in the Treasures for Life Thrift and Consignment Shop. Donors will receive an official receipt from the designated charity acknowledging their donation. Merchandise donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law, though, according to the IRS, we are not allowed to value what you have donated. However, we do have a Valuation Guideline Form that may be of assistance to you. Do you do pickups? Yes. For those items that are too large or too heavy to transport in your personal vehicle, simply contact a Treasures for Life representative toll-free at 888-500-6233 to schedule a convenient pick-up. The driver will provide a donation receipt at the time of pick-up. Where does all the money go? After paying our store employees and overhead expenses, proceeds go to support the various programs of our participating nonprofit partners right here in our community. Treasures for Life overhead is kept to a minimum, and we rely heavily on volunteer support for inventory maintenance and shop services. What are the store hours? Treasures for Life is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. We are closed Sundays. What types of items does the shop carry? Treasures for Life carries new and gently-used clothing, shoes, and accessories for the entire family. We also carry household items such as bedding, drapes, towels, furniture, jewelry, electronics, small kitchen appliances, dinnerware, crafts, toys, sporting goods, beauty items, books, music, knick knacks, and furniture. What is Treasures for Life return policy? Items in sale condition with the original receipt may be returned for a full refund. How can I volunteer? If you wish to volunteer your time or services, simply call us toll-free at 888-500-6233. Treasures for Life always needs help to accept and stock donated merchandise and clean the shop. We also need assistance on scheduled pick-up days collecting large items, such as donated furniture. What charities does Treasures for Life support?
